George Zimmerman wounded in Florida shooting

George Zimmerman was shot and wounded Monday afternoon in Florida.

Police said Zimmerman suffered a minor gunshot wound, reported WESH-TV.

The shooting remains under investigation by police in Lake Mary.

Zimmerman was involved in a shooting about 12:45 p.m. as part of an ongoing dispute with another man, police said.

A bullet hole was spotted in the passenger side window of Zimmerman’s truck, which WESH said viewers might recognize from previous incidents.

A witness said he recognized Zimmerman, who got out of his truck and walked to an ambulance that happened to be parked nearby.

“He walked normally into the ambulance, so he wasn’t being helped or nothing, said witness Ricardo Berrare.

Zimmerman was acquitted in the 2012 shooting death of unarmed teenager Trayvon Martin after claiming he acted in self-defense.

He said in March that he had a clear conscience in the shooting, which he descrbed as part of God’s plan.

Since then, Zimmerman has been arrested three times on domestic violence charges, but he was never prosecuted because the victims recanted in each case.
